MGM Grand Casino LV: WBO welterweight title Ffity five seconds into the 12th round a bruised and battered Miguel Cotto was cradled in the arms of ref. Kenny Bayliss giving Manny "Pacman" Pacqiao an easy TKO victory. It was a pulverising bout where Cotto had his odd moments but ended up with face full of cuts and welts at the hands of the worlds greatest pound for pund fighter. It was one way traffic as Cotto gave up his WBO title as the crowd chanted the challengers name.
Taking multiple barrages and combinations of punches, going down several times during the bout Cotto battled for survival but couldn't quite go the distance.
Mercifully the fight was halted as Pacquiao chased Cotto most of the fight before it proved too much for the Puerto Rican on a lop sided encounter. Pre fight Pacqiao was heavy favourite to win by KO and did so leaving it later than usual. In the process he created history by being the first boxer to capture seven different world titles in seven different weight divisions.
