Shoot Boxing (SB) held a press conference on October 28th and announced the main cards of the biggest show in its 23-year history. For this show at Saitama Super Arena, Ceasar Takeshi, the SB founder / promoter, prepared a few surprises. The first one is Chris Horodecki. This former IFL star is taking on Hiroki Shihido, one of the Ace fighters of SB. The other surprise is PRIDE veteran and in Japan, known as "the man who took Gomi to the limit", Luiz Azeredo from Chute Boxe and of course both bouts will be held under SB rules where fighters are allowed to throw or apply standing submissions on the opponent but no ground fights which means its easier to describe as kick boxing plus throws and standing submissions. So this is going to be an interesting test for these two MMA fighters. Horodecki's opponent is a veteran with K-1 experience and Azeredo's opponent is a European SB trial winner. And on top of this, these bouts are all first rounds of the eight-man one-night tournament. Yes they both have to fight possibly three fights in one night to conquer this tournament. Back in 2004 Jens Pulver competed in an S-cup tournament. Won the first round with a KO but was forced to withdraw due to an arm injury. This is not going to be easy for either of them. Confirmed Cards (Subject to Change): S-cup First Round 3 min / 3R S-cup First Round 3 min / 3R |
